PM: The Gehrig Twins break new ground
Enduro pros Anita and Carolin Gehrig are leaving the race tracks of the Enduro World Series to blaze new trails: With the "Flem Mountain Lodge" they open a new bike hotel in Switzerlands mountain destination Flims. According to the motto "Play, Unite, Unwind", the twins will not only let their qualities as hosts blossom from 03 June 2022. They provide their guests with first-hand Mountain Biking tips, organize camps and community events, and offer culinary delights and relaxation close to nature.

When people talk about enduro mountain biking in Switzerland, the names Anita and Carolin Gehrig are mentioned in the same breath. Now the 2022 season, their tenth international racing season, will be a farewell performance at the top level, because practically in parallel the twins are embarking on a new career path. Drawing on their backgrounds in the restaurant and hotel business, the Gehrig twins are opening a new hotel in Flims Waldhaus, the Flem Mountain Lodge. Not surprisingly, their focus is on active guests, especially Mountain Bikers, who are looking for experiences and relaxation in equal measure in the region around Flims.
Lived passion
"Of course, we will miss the big races a bit after this season. But running our own hotel is both a unique opportunity and a long-awaited dream for us. The best thing is that we can continue to do what we enjoy," says Anita Gehrig, explaining the move from professional sports to the hotel business.
At Flem Mountain Lodge, the twins can continue to live all of their passions; Mountain Biking, adventures in the mountains, coffee and good food. "Flims offers an incredible amount for Mountain Bikers and outdoor lovers. We also know all the trail gems in the region, are happy to give our guests tips for the perfect biking day, and afterwards provide them with the finest coffee, cool drinks, and delicious and healthy food," adds Carolin Gehrig.
Community as a central point
A central element at the newly renovated Flem Mountain Lodge is being together. This includes events such as bike camps but also small concerts or film screenings. But guests and locals are also offered enjoyment and good times after the activities, as Anita and Carolin explain: "It is important to us that our guests not only have a good time in nature. The lodge is also a place where guests and locals enjoy fine coffee or a local après-bike beer and share their experiences on the trails together."
Grand opening raffle
The Flem Mountain Lodge, with 23 modern rooms and a stylish 4 ½ room vacation apartment, will welcome its guests from 03 June 2022. To mark the occasion, the hosts are launching a raffle. The info is available on the website. www.flemlodge.ch/wettbewerb
