YEAH, Caro could score another Downhill Swiss Champs medal last weekend!
She had a lot of fun on the fast and very tecnical course in Leysin and is more the happy with this result.
A fairly spontaneous trip to the Swiss Downhill Championships in Leysin payed off well with a Bronze Medal for Caro. Very challenging muddy track conditions at the beginning of the weekend changed to an almost dry track on raceday. After a massive crash on a roadgap in training where she got blown over by a wind gust, she lost a bit of confidence but was lucky to walk away from it with only a few bruises. Bagging up the medal was a good redemption and satisfaction! ;-)
The Swiss Downhill Girls are on fire with the current World Champion taking the win with a super impressive time and multiple DH Champion Emilie Siegenthaler in second. It was also nice to see some younger up and coming riders lining up at the start as well.
"Super happy to secure another medal at Swiss Champs in DH this year. It was a tight battle for the podium and I'm stoked I managed to keep it together for a 3rd place! The track was pretty gnarly, especially in the wet and needed some good line choice and smart riding. DH racing is super fun to mix it up with the Enduro races and I think it helps a lot with downhill speed and commitment! I'm always having a fun time on the big bike!" -Caro Gehrig
